Chemical Peels

What is a chemical Peel?

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that involve using acids to exfoliate the skin. The acid removes a uniform amount of damaged skin cells across the treatment area. When done appropriately, this allows the skin to heal, with minimal scarring or colour changes. The chemical peels are amazing to give your skin a REFRESH and the most amazing GLOW.

At Aigeclinic I use a specific chemical peel brand. We have 3 different Skin Ranges which target different skin concerns;

What to expect post treatment?

Redness - Redness is totally normal and can last up to 72 hours post treatment. Most clients redness subsides within a few hours after the treatment, but if it lasts longer do not worry, this is totally normal.

Dryness/Tightness - As your skin reacts to the advanced treatment, You essentially have to go through a 'recovery stage'. During this stage you may experience some dryness and maybe even skin flaking & also a tightening feeling in your skin.  This is just your skins way of showing you it is removing all the dead skin cells and generating lots of new and youthful skin (which is classed as recovery).  This is also normal so please do not worry and just give your skin some time to recover.

Purging - Most people think this is their skin breaking out, or not reacting well to the treatment/ingredients used. However purging happens when you use active ingredients which activate your skin to generate new skin cells at a much faster rate than usual OR when you have a facial treatment done which generates lots of new healthy skin cells at a much faster rate than usual. Purging is your skin getting rid of all the impurities/sebum/dirt by bringing them to the surface of the skin and then that's when the new skin cells appear once all the yucky stuff has been removed. Advanced facial treatments is a process, PLEASE BE PATIENT.
